“Let me give you an update on how I'm doing. I start a full time job on the 12th of Nov., and I'm also a board member for a nonprofit organization. The job is at Kaiser aluminum plant, starting at 20 dollars an hour, so I won't be homeless much longer. I plan on coming back to Philly by next year and look forward to seeing everyone again. Tell George and Wallace, thank you for all of their help and prayers, I got my wife back and going to church every Sunday. So, thank God for the PVCH, and it's great staff, pass the email around to Hope and Ed or anyone who might doubt what you folks do. Stay in touch and send me an update also, God bless all of you, and be safe and proud in the things you do.”
- Barry Thornton, USAF

“I had a few concerns about living in Philly. The friendly, helpful personnel quickly changed my mind. The home was well organized and clean. Good people, friendly conversation and great meals. A friendly, comfortable place to stay during my treatments.”

- Ron Franya, US Army, VA patient

“My stay at the Comfort House was enjoyable…The House is very well organized …Food is excellent, living and sleeping conditions very good. I think I made some good friends here and pray for everyone I've met … Thank you for having me. I wish you all the best.”

– David Eckert, USMC, VA patient

"My stay here as an adult woman, mother and wife was better than expected. Other than not being able to cook my own meals, that was understandable, it was a good break for me. Thank you Comfort House."

- Takisha Saunders, guest

“The PVCH is professionally run. However, the staff made me feel like a member of the family. With pride that shows, the facilities are clean and the meals were wonderful. Thank you PVCH.”

– Stephen Zussman, US Army, VA patient

"The PVCH gave my family a Merry Christmas less than a month after we lost our home. They raised over $10,000.00 for us and their supporters donated a car, computers and much more. My wife and my three kids are thankful we came here and for the PVCH."

-- Tony Saunders, USMC
